Selection Procedure and Admission
The final selection of a candidate for HRM &LR (formerly PMIR) at TISS, Mumbai is based on five parameters. These are as follows:

Objective Test :
It includes quantitative, data interpretation, business knowledge and logical reasoning. The time allotted is 90 minutes.
A list of short listed candidates is declared who are selected for the GD and PI. To become eligible for GD and PI, a general candidate should secure a minimum combined score of 43 marks (35 marks for SCs and STs) in the above two together. -
Group Discussion :
It aims at assessment of knowledge about contemporary issues in the field and sensitivity to social issues, expressed orally in English in a group situation. The time allotted is 20 minutes. -
Personal Interview :
The candidate is expected to be acquainted with the program applied for, as questions may be asked on the topic during the PI. Questions are also asked regarding a candidate's professional and personal background. -
Academic Background :
Marks are awarded to each applicant on the basis of over all percentage of marks secured in the Bachelor's Degree. However, high academic achievement is not the only criterion on which the candidate will be selected.
The weight age assigned to the various components vary year by year. Typically around November the brochure for admission is published and written exams conducted by January.
This year (2007-'09) batch has 64 students. The intake next year will be decided by the institute and published in the Application Brochure.
